Support & Advice

There are a number of services in Plymouth which provide helpful support and advice for children and families. If you need any further support accessing these services, please contact a member of the pastoral team.  

Benefits and Finances 


Families First Children Services – https://www.plymouth.gov.uk/worried-about-child  

  • If you’re worries about a child or young person or think they are being abused call Families First on 01752 668000 or email familiesfirst@plymouth.gov.uk  

  • Families First also provide Early Help advice and support for topics such as emotional well being, parenting, contact issues, social and emotional development. 


Family Hubs - https://www.plymouth.gov.uk/family-hubs 

  • Family Hubs support families from pregnancy, through childhood, and up to age 19 (or 25 for those with special educational needs and disabilities). 

  • They can offer in person and online advice for a range of topics such as health, development, behaviour, finances and relationships.  

  • They also offer a number of parenting workshops such as Togetherness (Solihull), Circle of Security and Incredible Years.  

  • Efford Family Hub is located in the Dell Centre which is attached to High View School.  


Plymouth Domestic Abuse Service https://www.sanctuary-supported-living.co.uk/support-services/domestic-abuse/plymouth-domestic-abuse-services-pdas-plymouth  

  • Providing information, advice and support for victims of domestic abuse. 

  • They also offer courses aimed to empower and inform survivors of domestic abuse. 

  • Access support online via the link or by contacting 0800 458 2558 Mon-Fri 8-5pm.  


Plymouth Information, Advice and Support for SEND (PIASS) - https://www.plymouthias.org.uk/  

  • PIASS over free advice to help families build their knowledge, understanding and confidence in SEND procedures and policies and to enable them to communicate their own needs, wishes, aims and rights. 

  • They offer virtual and in person workshops relating to SEND processes.  

  • PIASS can offer signposting to other services and supporting relating to SEND needs.  


Plymouth Young Carers - https://www.plymouthonlinedirectory.org/childrenandfamilies/plymouthyoungcarersservice  

  • For children and young people under 18 and looking after a family member or friend who is ill, disabled, or suffers from problematic substance use, Plymouth Young Carers can provide information and support. 

  • Plymouth City Council commission The Children’s Society to provide the Young Carers provision in the city.
