Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium funding is a government initiative introduced in 2011 to help improve outcomes for disadvantaged children. The allocation is based on the number of pupils eligible for Free School Meals, children who have been in care, and those from families with other vulnerable circumstances. National research consistently shows that pupils facing deprivation can experience barriers to learning that impact their achievement. Pupil Premium funding enables schools to provide targeted support so these pupils can thrive and fulfil their potential.
At High View School, as part of the Learning Academies Trust, we believe that every child deserves an outstanding education, regardless of their background or starting point. We have high aspirations for all our children and are committed to ensuring that no pupil is disadvantaged or left behind. We firmly believe that it is not where you come from that defines your success, but the opportunities, encouragement, and high‑quality teaching you receive.
Our Pupil Premium Strategy outlines how we use the grant to provide:
- High-quality teaching for all
- Targeted academic interventions
- Support for pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural needs
Through these approaches, we work to narrow gaps in attainment, remove barriers to learning, and ensure that every child at High View can achieve their very best.
