Safeguarding
At High View School, safeguarding our pupils is at the heart of everything we do. All staff and Governors receive regular safeguarding training to ensure they are fully equipped to keep children safe. In addition, we have a dedicated Safeguarding Team responsible for monitoring concerns and reporting incidents promptly and effectively.
We believe safeguarding is a partnership between school and home. If you ever have concerns or need advice, our team is here to support you and your family. Please do not hesitate to contact us—we are committed to working together to ensure every child feels safe, valued, and cared for.

Operation Encompass
High View School, is proud to be part of Operation Encompass, an initiative run by Devon and Cornwall Police. This early intervention safeguarding partnership supports children and young people who have been exposed to domestic abuse.
Through Operation Encompass, schools are informed—before the start of the next school day—when a child or young person has been involved in or exposed to a domestic abuse incident. This information is shared in strict confidence with the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) so that appropriate support can be offered, tailored to the needs and wishes of the child.
Operation Encompass is a Trauma-Informed and Trauma-Sensitive charity, and we fully acknowledge the impact of domestic abuse as an Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE). Our aim is to provide understanding, care, and timely support for every child affected.
