Year 6 Visit 'The Box' For Our Connecting Classrooms Project
We have had a lovely day today at @theboxplymouth We had the most amazing tour of the box, we really enjoyed investigating the bugs with microscopes, finding out about the history of Plymouth, the WWII exhibition, and of course, meeting Mildred the Woolly Mammoth.
In the afternoon we presented our art ‘Plastic Fish and Chips’ which we created working with our artist Soraya Phillips based on the kinetic sculptures of American artist Alexander Calder.
We wanted to highlight the impact of plastic pollution in our oceans and how it affects our food chain. Our art forms part of our project work with our link school ‘West Oxford’ in Ghana through the British Schools Council and Erasmus project.
