MAYFLOWER - SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE EXPERIENCE

Although the weather was against us on Monday (with very strong winds all day), the children from 5/6SR had an amazing day on the water as part of the Mayflower Celebrations, when we were involved in a Spirit of Adventure day. It was great to be hosted by the Island and the Bounty Project teams and to have the opportunity to climb on board different boats for the day, where we learned all about the challenges of sailing successfully. One group were lucky enough to explore a sheltered area of the Sound on board The Bounty, while the rest of us learnt lots about the area through investigating our boats and sea charts, whilst also having the opportunity to see what the busy sailing environment looks, sounds and feels like first-hand.
