High View Primary School

‟High View is an exciting place to learn and grow,
where everyone is valued for who they are.”

High View Mini Police

Year 5/6SM all filled out application to join the Mini Police. They were inaugurated by reading a pledge out loud and then were given their uniforms (high vis jacket and hat). Over the course of 6 weeks, the children are completing virtual sessions where they are learning about anti-social behaviour.  The children go out on duty at break and lunch times where they monitor issues, ensure social distancing is being maintained and help out where they can.

The children are also taught how important it is to have good relationships in the community and as they had all previously been involved in our Archie Club for Dementia Awareness, the children made three botanical gardens for the residents of Manor Court to show community support.  One of these being a special memorial for Gloria.

Following their training, our Mini Police were honoured to receive their programme completion certificates from Plymouth’s Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Matt Longman. Everyone passed with flying colours, and we are proud to be the first school in the South West to be involved!
