We were delighted and honoured to be one of two schools in the city to be invited to greet the Queen on Tuesday 27th March 2018 as she arrived at Plymouth train station for the decommissioning of HMS Ocean. A group of 30 children from Y1 to Y6 were very excited to meet the Queen and they proved themselves to be great ambassadors for High View, as their behaviour and manners were exemplary. We waved our flags and cheered as Her Majesty approached. She came very close, wished the children good morning and gave us her lovely smile. Our children mixed with many dignitaries on the day, including the Lord Mayor and our local MP Luke Pollard. They were eloquent, polite and confident and we were very proud of them all.
